One of the first females to participate in the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii in 1981, Emily T moved to Hawaii when she was recruited to be race director of the Ironman in 1986. She moved from downtown Detroit, where, as the creator and producer of the Emily Detroit Run, with over 20,000 participants in its heyday and the co-creator of the "Say Nice Things about Detroit" campaign thru her retail store Emily’s Across the Street she was a Michiganian of the Year recipient. After moving to Hawaii, it was not long before the world class golf courses along the Kohala Coast drew her back into the game of golf she had dabbled at professionally many years ago. . Her business life in Hawaii has included promoting the Kohala Coast Resorts as a destination and as a PR and Marketing Consultant for the Mauna Lani Senior Skins, Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai (formerly MasterCard) and sports & resort related events she has created. . In 1998 the Kona Board of Realtors awarded her with the Civilian Community Enrichment Award, the same year she received her real estate license. Her focus is on resort and luxury properties along the Kohala Coast. Her many years of marketing the Kohala Coast have provided her with an inside look at the many nuances of each resort that serves buyers well. Emily T’s local presence and knowledge go well with her desire to match those who love Hawaii with finding their new vacation home or primary residence.
