If you have time I'd like to share some background on this unit and the owner cause it's a story repeated day in and day out. regarding Kohala Real Estate. People who have loved visiting Hawaii purchasing their first home here and eventually grow into their next home. Each have their story they like to share. Here is a little background. I have had the pleasure of spending a great deal of time along the Kohala Coast the last 20 years, doing Public Relations and Marketing. I was involved doing Media and PR for the Mauna Lani Senior Skins for many years.. One year, one of the Mauna Lani residents who lived at Mauna Lani Point, one of the very few places to live at Mauna Lani at the time had made a very generous donation to the North Hawaii Community Hospital for the pleasure of playing with Arnold Palmer in the Mauna Lani Senior Skins Pro-Am. I talked about the Mauna Lani Senior Skins support of the North Hawaii Community Hospital Building Fund (in those days) on Emily Gail Talk TV and became a golf friend with the Mauna Lani resident who made the donation. That longtime friend, Jim who owned several units at Mauna Lani Point has moved to a home with more bedrooms. He had offered me the opportunity to find a new owner for his Mauna Lani Point unit who would enjoy their life here as much as Jim and his friends have for years. here are a few of the views Jim had and now the new owners have on their daily walks .... I asked Jim, to share with me some thoughts about his Mauna Lani Point home he recently sold.
I had sent him a photo of the sunset from his lanai that day. Here's what he had to say ... As you know, I have been going to the Mauna Lani since 1987. When I first arrived there, nothing existed between the airport and ML except for Kona Village. I thought it was a moonscape and was sure someone had played a joke on me. But, going through the entry to ML with the big palm trees always excites me a little and brings back many memories. When our firm was young and very small, we would take everyone overthere for a retreat. This went on for several years until we simply outgrew the facility. Those were very special times; I have on my desk a picture of "the firm" (which was about 20 people) in 1988, I think, where everyone fit on the lower staircase at the ML Bay back by the meeting rooms. About 10 of those folks are still with us! I had watched the prices of condos at the Mauna Lani for several years before purchasing E-106. I knew several of the units as I had rented them through Classic Resorts. When I saw E-106 I knew it was the place for me. It has a great view of the ocean and the sunsets; being on the end, it is private; and it is centrally located, close to the BBQ area and pool. It is simply a great location. Because partly of the location, it has become the socializing point for many of my friends, most of whom you know. Since I always left the unit unlocked (never worried about security)friends would drop by at sunset, whether I was there or not. They knew that we would try to be back in time for sunset. We might have two or three people show up, or as many as 25 might appear. Often, after sunset, several of us would go over to the BBQ to prepare dinner. By this time I know all the owners in the E complex and they are all very nice folks. There you have it in Jim's words. I'm nearby and would love to show you why people say nice things about living on the Big Island of Hawaii. emilytgail@emilys.org or (808) 896-6780 cell.
